Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Industries in Kentucky is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a 12-hour night shift (7 pm – 7 am) on a 2-2-3 schedule. You will maintain and repair manufacturing and facility equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support kaizen and equipment improvements.

The role requires a two-year technical diploma in industrial maintenance or 5 years of related experience, with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical diploma/degree in industrial maintenance or equivalent experience.
• 5 years industrial maintenance experience with electrical/mechanical systems including PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics and motor control.
• Experience with fabrication equipment (milling m/c, band saw, etc.).
• Prefer 1–3 years maintenance experience with automated assembly equipment and/or injection molding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to safety related matters
• Reduce downtime by quick diagnosis and repair requests from internal customers
• Perform preventive maintenance on automatic assembly/packing machines and injection molding equipment
• Maintain and repair production/facility equipment and fixtures; determine root cause and countermeasures
• Prepare maintenance daily reports, work orders, and requests
• Perform project work such as equipment improvements using PLC programming
• Install production equipment and electrical/mechanical utilities; perform repairs and facility modifications
• Ensure OSHA safety guidelines and proper housekeeping
• Perform overtime and other shifts as required
