Job summary

Smart Sand seeks experienced Maintenance Technicians to join the Night Shift Maintenance team at the Blair facility in Wisconsin. The role is full-time with an hourly pay range of $26 to $30, plus a $1 night shift differential.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of heavy equipment, plus fabrication of replacement parts. A minimum of 3 years in maintenance is preferred, with safety and teamwork emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Prior experience in electrical, welding, diesel, or heavy equipment repair, hydraulic service, or fabrication work, strongly desired.
• Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of stationary and mobile equipment.
• Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in the repair of stationary and mobile equipment.
• Skill in the use of a variety of hand tools.
• Must be able to read, use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with some supervision.
• Good judgment is required.
• Must be adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have high safety standards for self and others.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.
• Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• MSHA training and experience are also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities using mechanical, electrical, welding, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust production equipment or heavy machinery.
• Repair or replace control devices such as switches and sensors.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and adjust fluid levels, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches.
• Disassemble units, repair or replace parts and reassemble units.
• Able to fabricate, modify, and install replacement parts using welders and torch sets.
• Complete work orders and maintain maintenance logs.
• Use hand tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely.
• Report faulty operations and any unusual situations to supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and environmental/quality systems.
