Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on large manufacturing equipment. You will identify root causes of breakdowns, repair swiftly, and maintain detailed work records.

The role requires teamwork with supervisors and product managers to implement improvements and ensure safety. A high school diploma and a relevant vocational certificate are preferred, with testing as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational certificate in welding, maintenance, electrical, etc. preferred.
• Ability to take and pass internal required testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts as necessary to ensure optimal condition.
• Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns; repair quickly to decrease downtime.
• Record and report damaged or worn parts; order and install replacement parts as needed.
• Prepare reports documenting work performed.
• Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with department heads on new products and modifications required.
• Make modifications and test runs; discuss results with product manager and adjust as needed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
• Wear PPE in all areas where mandatory to promote zero-accident culture.
