Job summary

Leggett & Platt Incorporated is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics for Merit Steel in Kouts, Indiana. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to keep operations safe and efficient.

Candidates should have strong experience with various voltages, be able to read schematics, and perform preventive maintenance, installations, and process improvements. Shift is Sunday–Friday, 11 p.m.–7 a.m.

Qualifications

Strong background in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Experience with 110V, 220V, 277V and 480V single and three-phase systems.
Ability to read wiring schematics.
Welding and torching experience.
Must be organized and able to multi-task.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Trained technician in electrical, mechanical, or both.
At least 3 years in the trained area or completion of a technical program in industrial maintenance.
Experience in industrial manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and boiler systems.
Perform preventative maintenance measures.
Responsible for installation of new manufacturing equipment.
Support in development and implementation of improvement activities for all manufacturing equipment.
Assist in maintenance record keeping and documentation.
