Job summary

Leggett & Platt in Indiana is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to keep our Merit Steel operations running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and support equipment installation and ongoing improvements.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance or a technical program completion, welding experience, and strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, boiler systems, and pumps.
• Work with 110V–480V single and three-phase systems.
• Ability to read wiring schematics.
• Welding and torching experience.
• Organized and able to multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Trained technician in electrical and/or mechanical.
• At least 3 years of working experience or completion of a technical program in industrial maintenance.
• Industrial manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and boiler systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance measures.
• Responsible for installation of new manufacturing equipment.
• Support in the development and implementation of improvement activities for all manufacturing equipment.
• Assist in maintenance record keeping and documentation.
