Qualifications

  • Strong background troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Experience with boiler systems and pumps/pumping systems.
  • Able to read wiring schematics and interpret electrical diagrams.
  • Welding and torching experience required or preferred.
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task and communicate effectively.
  • Trained technician in electrical, mechanical or both with industrial maintenance background.
  • 3+ years in a related field or completion of a technical program.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and boiler systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and install new manufacturing equipment.
  • Support improvements for all manufacturing equipment and maintain records.

Shift/Hours: Sunday through Friday, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, and candidates must be willing and able to adapt to different schedules.

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanics to join our team at our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background for effectively troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and providing a safe and efficient environment for all employees.

So, what will you be doing as a Maintenance Technician?
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and boiler systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance measures.
  • Responsible for installation of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Support in the development and implementation of improvement activities for all manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist in maintenance record keeping and documentation.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, boiler systems, and pumps and pumping systems.
  • Experience in 110V, 220V, 277V, and 480V single and three phase hands on.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics.
  • Welding and torching experience.
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task.
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Trained technician in electrical, mechanical either or both.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the trained area, or the successful completion of a technical program in industrial maintenance.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing is preferred.
