Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to join our Merit Steel facility in Kouts, Indiana. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, installation of new equipment, and contributing to improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and boiler systems.
Experience reading wiring schematics.
Welding and torching experience.
At least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or completed a technical program.
Experience in 110V, 220V, 277V, and 480V single and three phase systems.
Strong organization and multi-tasking skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Industrial manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and boiler systems.
Perform preventative maintenance measures.
Responsible for installation of new manufacturing equipment.
Support in development and implementation of improvement activities for all manufacturing equipment.
Assist in maintenance record keeping and documentation.
