Job summary

Anchor Packaging, a Georgia Pacific company, seeks Machine Shop Technicians for the Paragould, AR facility. Manage setup and operation of conventional mills, lathes, and grinders. Night shift is 7pm–5am, Wednesday to Saturday, with a $0.75 shift differential.

Pay ranges from $23.50 to $29.50 hourly based on experience. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing equipment, selecting fixtures, calculating machining factors, using precision gauges, and maintaining tools and machines.

Qualifications

• Experience with cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and other accessories such as manual mills, lathes, grinders, and tool grinders.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery or equipment, and perform repairs to safely install and/or return production equipment to acceptable operating conditions.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, attachments and work material.
• Calculate machining factors such as speed, feed, depth, angle of cut coolant flow, etc.
• Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
• Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial calipers, depth gauge indicators during manufacturing.
• Inspect the workpiece and create an inspection document for future reference, if necessary.
• Clean and perform maintenance on the machines, tools, and parts.
• Perform coolant replacement.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Perform tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve hours a day in a loud/noisy industrial environment.
