Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is hiring an Operations Supervisor to lead multimodal logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient execution and high service levels. You will oversee frontline teams, drive productivity, and enforce SOPs and safety programs across a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coaching, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with transportation, planning, customer service, and quality teams to meet performance goals.

Qualifications

• Education and GED/HS required; associate degree preferred.
• Valid forklift certification and ability to operate MHE as required.
• 3+ years in warehouse, distribution, or supply chain with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operational activities across receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, dispatching, routing, and yard management.
• Coordinate and prioritize work for team members to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets.
• Ensure inventory, freight, and equipment are handled safely, accurately, and on time.
• Monitor workflow, resource use, labor allocation, and equipment usage for efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and change control processes.
• Support audits and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards (OSHA/DOT).
• Lead problem-solving for service issues, defects, delays, and escalations.
• Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and other CI initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, cost control, and service.
• Provide day-to-day coaching and development for frontline associates.
