Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Glendale Heights, IL is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist for night shifts (7 pm–7:30 am) with every other weekend availability. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is offered for eligible applicants.

The role involves initiating and monitoring respiratory therapies, maintaining patient records, and operating equipment per orders. You will educate patients and families on conditions and disease management, lead shift activities, participate in quality

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Broad Respiratory knowledge, leadership ability, accepts responsibility and works independently.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills and good communication with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and conducts respiratory therapy procedures and maintains patient records.
• Responds to emergency codes, performs airway management, intubation, chest compressions, and ventilator setup.
• Educates patients and families on conditions and disease management techniques.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to students and new hires during orientation.
• Attends department meetings and participates in quality improvement processes.
