Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in La Grange, IL invites a PRN Respiratory Therapist to join our night-shift team. This role supports patient care across neonatal to geriatric populations, documents procedures, ensures safety, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to optimize therapy delivery.

Requires an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science, BLS CPR certification, and RRT credentials (state or NBRC). 1+ year critical care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• 1+ year of critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.
• Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets evaluations and test results to determine treatment plans with the team.
• Responds to Code Blue emergencies providing CPR per AHA guidelines.
• Performs respiratory therapies and selects delivery method per protocol.
• Obtains and analyzes arterial blood gases and reports findings.
• Maintains airway management including ventilators per policy.
• Assesses patients to optimize efficacy and efficiency of therapy.
• Other duties as assigned.
