Job summary

JLL is seeking a Lead Engineer - Critical Environments for our Colorado City, TX data center campus. You will supervise the on-site engineering team responsible for installation, maintenance and operation of base building and critical system equipment, including UPS and emergency generators. The role requires 5+ years in a data center environment with supervisory experience.

Shift: Night. On-site with relocation support to Mitchell County, TX under company terms.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience in a data center/critical facility including UPS systems, emergency generators and switchgear.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; valid operating engineers license or equivalent required.
• Certification as Universal Technician for CFCs (or within 90 days of employment) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct maintenance staff while overseeing all building systems operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety and emergency backup systems.
• Schedule preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate contracted work to minimize disruption.
• Train maintenance staff in procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation to maintain professional standards.
• Manage inventory of tools and supplies, prepare purchase orders, and maintain engineering logs and documentation.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyze system operations and implement corrective actions to achieve uptime goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols for hazardous materials and facility work authorization processes.
• Assist Chief Engineer with KPI implementation and oversee contractor activities to protect client asset value.
