Quest Diagnostics in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee technical and operational activities in the laboratory with a focus on quality, safety and efficiency. The role requires strong leadership, QA oversight, budgeting and staff development in a rotating night schedule (12:00 AM–8:30 AM).

The ideal candidate has extensive clinical lab management experience, ASCP certification preferred, and a track record of process improvements, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years laboratory experience with at least 4 years direct supervisory experience.
• Experience coordinating QA programs and inspections in a clinical lab.
• Strong leadership, training and staff development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign and direct work in the laboratory and liaise with other areas as needed.
• Mentor and support direct reports; implement supervisory training.
• Define, coordinate and monitor QA programs; ensure QC reports are up to date and inspections are prepared.
• Oversee staffing; interview, hire, train and evaluate staff.
• Identify future needs in staff, equipment and facilities; document procurements.
• Review test performance; drive process improvements and project management.
• Manage test database and SOPs; ensure accuracy of current processes.
• Coordinate R&D activities related to operations and participate on committees as needed.
• Develop annual budget and manage department costs within budget.
• Resolve problems through client interaction; ensure EHS standards are followed.
