Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Laboratory Manager in Cincinnati, OH to oversee all technical and operational activities in the laboratory, ensuring high quality, safety and efficiency in daily operations.

Responsibilities include planning, staffing, QA oversight, budgeting and coordination with regulatory bodies. Requires 8+ years in a lab with 4+ years in supervisory roles; ASCP preferred and CA licensure for CA locations if applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years laboratory experience with at least four (4) years direct supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance programs; familiarity with CLIA, HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
• Experience with budgeting, staffing and staff development; able to coordinate multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign and direct work in the laboratory; liaise with other areas as needed.
• Mentor and support direct reports; implement supervisory skill development training.
• Define, coordinate and monitor QA programs; ensure QC reports and inspections are up to date.
• Oversee staffing; recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff to maintain quality coverage.
• Identify future needs in staff, equipment and facilities; document procurement requests.
• Review test performance, drive process improvements and prepare required reports.
