Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital in the United States is seeking a Laboratory Support professional to perform registration, screening, and order entry for specimens. You will produce reports from the lab information system, route as required, and assist with front office calls.

Responsibilities include receiving and delivering specimens, preparing samples for analysis, loading automated instruments, and faxing reports under HIPAA guidelines. This role operates nights with weekend alternation.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Ability to work as a team player with excellent customer services skills.
• Previous lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs registration, medical necessity screening, and order entry on specimens received in the laboratory.
• Produces reports from the lab information system and routes as required.
• Handles phone calls in the laboratory front office.
• Receives and delivers specimens to laboratory departments in a timely manner.
• Prepares specimens for analysis and loads automated instruments.
• Faxes reports as required in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
