Job summary

Synectics Inc. seeks a detail-oriented laboratory support person to assist professionals and facilitate production. Responsibilities include sorting and receiving specimens, instrument maintenance, QA/QC duties, and cross-functional data handling.

The role requires preparing reagents, testing specimens, and following PPE and safety regulations. The position operates Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with focus on accurate data recording and biosafety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assistant training helpful.
• Math and science courses preferred.
• Must have the ability to establish work priorities and to handle several tasks for maximum workstation efficiency.
• Must be able to retain information once learned.
• Must interact with other coworkers, internal and external customers with courtesy and respect.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory functions to assist staff.
• Sort and receive specimens.
• Maintain routine instrument maintenance.
• Prepare reagents and media for the department.
• Prepare specimens for testing and build worklists.
• QA/QC duties as assigned.
• Resolves pending lists and finds missing samples.
