Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technical Assistant to perform specimen collection and processing for patients of all ages. The role includes assisting with laboratory data systems, ordering, cancellations and charges, and ensuring accurate clerical processing.

The schedule is night work: Sun-Thu 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, every third weekend. This full-time position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and formal phlebotomy training or equivalent experience, with color vision

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, PLUS; six months clinical phlebotomy training OR two years specimen-related experience OR a two-year degree in a science or health field.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to follow accurate specimen handling procedures and clerical processing, with good communication skills.
Color vision acuity and successful color-acuity screening are required.

Responsibilities

Assign duties and tasks for the Laboratory Technical Assistant as needed.
Perform specimen collection and processing for all patient ages as required.
Assist in handling laboratory data systems to ensure proper ordering, cancellations and charges.
