Job summary

ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Aide to join the Clinical Laboratory team. You will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies in a fast-paced lab environment.

This part-time night shift (16 hours weekly) requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a phlebotomy program or demonstrated phlebotomy skills. ProMedica is a mission-driven health system dedicated to improving health and well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of formal phlebotomy program or previous experience with ability to demonstrate phlebotomy skills prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room.
• Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing.
• Prepares urine specimens.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are needed.
• Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists in maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition.
