Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a part-time Laboratory Aide at Monroe Regional Hospital. You will collect blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients, label and transport specimens, and assist in maintaining inventory and lab operations.

Responsibilities include preparing urine specimens, charting, answering phones, and keeping the laboratory clean and orderly. Prior phlebotomy training or demonstrated skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of formal phlebotomy program or demonstrated phlebotomy skills.
• Ability to collect blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Willingness to maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples from patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room.
• Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing.
• Prepares urine specimens.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are needed.
• Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and keeps the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition.
