Job summary
The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment at our Wheeling, IL facility. You will work with dryers, chillers, HVAC, conveyors, pumps, motors, and other process equipment to support production goals.
Night shift supervisors the 12-hour rotating schedule; candidates should have at least 1 year of manufacturing maintenance experience and may hold industrial electrical or welding
Qualifications
- One year of work experience as a mechanic in manufacturing or distribution.
- Preferred two years of mechanic experience in manufacturing/distribution.
- Industrial electrical or welding certifications or licenses.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment.
- Repair broken machines and equipment quickly and efficiently.
- Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Order and install replacement parts for machines.
- Assist in electrical projects and perform minor electrical repairs.
- Assist in pipe fitting tasks and perform some installation unassisted.
- Maintain and service building equipment including HVAC, lighting, water and sewer.
- Maintain documentation as required.
- Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, tools, and supplies.
- Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
- Maintain technical knowledge through training.
