Job summary

Sherwin-Williams Co. in Wheeling, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment to support operations. Equipment includes dryers, chillers, HVAC, pumps, conveyors, tanks, and building systems.

You will perform preventive maintenance and ensure a safe, clean, and productive work environment. The role requires 1+ year as a mechanic in manufacturing/distribution; 2+ years preferred; industrial electrical/welding

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanic experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Preferred: 2+ years of mechanic experience in a manufacturing/distribution setting.
• Industrial, electrical, and/or welding certification or license is preferred.
• Experience applying electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts; PLC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and servicing on equipment.
• Repair broken machines and equipment quickly and efficiently.
• Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
• Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Order and install replacement parts for machines.
• Assist electrical projects and perform minor electrical repairs.
• Assist in pipe fitting tasks and some installation work.
• Maintain and service building equipment including HVAC, lighting, water and sewer.
• Maintain documentation as required.
• Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Maintain technical knowledge through training.
