Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment at our Statesville facility. You will work on dryers, chillers, HVAC, pumps, conveyors, and more to keep production safe and efficient.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, part replacement, electrical and pipe-fitting tasks, and maintaining shop areas. Prefer candidates with PLC experience and relevant industrial certifications.

Qualifications

One year of mechanic experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
Two+ years of mechanic experience in such environments preferred.
Industrial, electrical, and/or welding certification or license is preferred.
Experience applying electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts.
Experience implementing Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment.
Repair broken machines and equipment quickly and efficiently.
Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
Order and install replacement parts for machines.
Assist in electrical projects and perform minor electrical repairs.
Assist in pipe fitting tasks and perform some installation unassisted.
Maintain and service building equipment including HVAC, lighting, water and sewer, etc.
Maintain documentation as required.
Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
Maintain technical knowledge through training.
