Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• <1 year hospital security experience preferred.
• IAHHS Basic Security Officer Certification required within 6 months.
• Certifications for issued equipment (handcuffs, O.C. spray, taser) required within 30 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital buildings and grounds.
• Respond to emergency situations and hospital codes.
• Assist with the handling of deceased persons and their property.
• Maintain radio communication with hospital switchboard and other security officers.
• Provide courtesy escorts to employees, patients, and visitors.
• Handle patient valuables and lost and found items.
• Secure items of evidentiary value.
• Document all activity including rounds in the Security Log.
