Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 2-3 years of experience in healthcare, security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or Fire/EMS preferred.
• Ability to maintain calm under stress and provide leadership in crisis situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to prepare objective incident reports.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventative security and safety patrols throughout buildings and grounds.
• Provides security for hospital patients, visitors and staff; responds to requests and emergency codes.
• Maintains alertness for unusual conditions; identifies unauthorized persons and notifies supervisor or police as needed.
• Inspects equipment (radios, fire extinguishers, panic alarms, AEDs, emergency phones) for proper operation and reports issues.
• Writes detailed incident reports and daily activity logs; conducts follow-up investigations as needed.
