Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, GA, is seeking a part-time Switchboard/Customer Service Associate to support after-hours calls and answer needs for patients, families, and staff. You will maintain call logs, know hospital codes, and forward information efficiently while delivering courteous, professional service.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of computer systems.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Customer service skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Attention to reading, writing and computer tasks.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to answer calls promptly and accurately.
• Knowledge of basic insurance concepts preferred.
• Bi-lingual abilities preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability and willingness to adapt to change.
• Clear and precise speaking abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Contacts key personnel after hours as needed.
• Maintains an operational call log of all activities, requests, and issues.
• Cultivates accurate knowledge of hospital disaster codes and announces them efficiently according to procedure.
• Projects a positive and helpful demeanor while working with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Other duties as assigned.
• Maintains a courteous and professional manner when answering calls.
• Demonstrates skill and proficiency when executing overhead announcements.
• Forwards calls promptly to proper departments, patient rooms, or staff as necessary.
• Understands and responds to all codes and alarm systems.
• Updates and maintains all on call lists for staff when notified of changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
