Job summary

Hospice of Chattanooga is seeking an Inpatient Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to hospice patients requiring intensive pain and symptom management, end-of-life care, or inpatient respite services. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver expert clinical care with dignity and comfort.

Schedule is 7pm-7am. The organization offers a strong benefits package including health, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, tuition assistance, and 401(k)

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license is required.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience in medical-surgical, acute care, or related clinical setting.
• Hospice experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current CPR certification if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to hospice patients requiring intensive pain and symptom management, end-of-life care, or inpatient respite services.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, and other skilled nursing interventions while monitoring patient response.
• Assess changes in patient condition and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team for timely, coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on hospice philosophy, disease progression, medications, and available support resources.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and care transitions to ensure continuity of care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR per standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, and other team members.
• Mentor and support fellow caregivers and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and state regulations.
