Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services seeks a dedicated RN for an On-Call Hospice role in the Chattanooga area. The position covers weekends and after-hours, with a focus on delivering compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care. Travel within Hamilton, Marion, Sequatchie counties is involved.

The ideal candidate has hospice experience, a valid RN license, and a commitment to documentation excellence. A reliable vehicle and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in the operating state.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Hospice or similar setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
• Must have a reliable, insured vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 episodic on‑call hospice care during after-hours and weekends.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms with compassionate care.
• Administer medications or adjust care per hospice protocols or orders.
• Communicate changes in condition with the physician and obtain orders as needed.
• Support patients and families in understanding condition and next steps.
• Pronounce death when applicable and assist family/funeral arrangements.
