Job summary

Our Hospice is hiring a Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) for our 14 bed Inpatient Facility in Columbus, IN. An RN works with a caseload of patients and the support of Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Aides, Chaplains, and Social Workers.

Shift Available: Nights, 3x12s and every other weekend; 7 pm - 7:30 am. Responsibilities include providing nursing care, case management, patient/family education, discharge planning, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary group to develop and update the

Qualifications

• ASN or BSN in nursing; or currently enrolled in accredited program.
• 1–3 years health care experience preferred.
• Licensure: Indiana RN; CPR certified.
• Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
• Hospice/palliative care knowledge and principles.
• Strong communication and education skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients in the Hospice Inpatient Facility and conducts comprehensive assessments.
• Acts as case manager with responsibility for assigned patients and resource management.
• Educates and counsels patients and families on care techniques, pain control, and symptom management.
• Conducts discharge planning for patients returning to their residence.
• Develops and updates individualized plans of care in collaboration with the IDG and coordinates with the team.
