Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a department supervisor to drive exceptional customer service and oversee all functions of the department within the store. You will supervise associates, plan schedules, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with safety and food handling regulations.

• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in appraisals.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions or make product suggestions.
• Inform customers of grocery specials and promotions.
• Create and execute a department business plan to achieve results.
• Monitor and control expenses for the department.
• Assist store management in preparing budget, P&L reviews and actions on financial reports.
• Maintain inventory awareness and note discrepancies.
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and computer ordering.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report safety risks to management.
• Inspect equipment and arrange repairs as needed.
• Notify management of accidents and safety issues.
