Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality and review sell by dates; take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management if repairs are needed.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks/illegal activity.
