Job summary

Qualifications

• CC degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years experience in warehouse and freight operations assisting with similar duties.
• Excellent computer skills to keep accurate records of all vehicle movements.
• Past dispatch/logistics experience preferred.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Knowledge of office procedures such as maintaining files and attention to detail.
• Active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight to pickups and deliveries.
• Record and allocate all requests for delivery and pickup within territories among available drivers.
• Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
• Select vehicle routes for efficient movement and prepare pickup and delivery schedules.
• Record all information for proper billing.
• Assign drivers and trucks.
• Call extra drivers when needed to handle unexpected volume.
• Maintain radio, phone, and computer contact with trucks for emergencies.
• Record and maintain files and records of driver logs, dispatch logs, and related data.
• Keep vehicle inventory with accurate records of trailers used for off-site storage.
• Supervise maintenance and repair schedules for all vehicles.
• Punctuality and regular attendance are mandatory.
• Other duties as requested by management.
