Job summary

Ellwood Engineered Castings Co. is seeking a Crew Member of Casting Production to cast molten iron into sand molds. You will prep molds, monitor temperatures, and pour iron while maintaining safety and PPE. Overtime and night shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read blueprints, spec sheets and tape measures.
• Willing to work flexible hours with mandatory overtime.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and spec sheets.
• Inspect and sweep out molds.
• Use ladle to pour hot iron into the mold.
• Check temperatures of iron.
• Pour iron and skim slag off the top as the flask fills.
• Add compound to top of iron to ensure liquidity.
• Take samples of iron and record data on the cast sheet.
• Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards, including proper PPE.
