Job summary

Ellwood in Ohio is seeking a Crew Member of Casting Production to assist in casting molten iron into sand molds, prepare molds, and monitor temperatures. The role involves handling alloys by hand and operating the ladle to pour iron into the mold, with safety as a top priority and required PPE.

You will read blueprints, inspect molds, and record data on the cast sheet. This is a night shift with mandatory overtime and opportunities for growth within the foundry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to perform work at heights and pass physical requirements.
• Willingness to learn crane operation and safety protocols.
• Ability to read blueprints, spec sheets, and tape measures.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints and spec sheets.
• Inspect and sweep out molds.
• Use ladle to extract hot metal from the torpedo.
• Check temperatures of iron.
• Pour iron and skim slag.
• Record data on cast sheet.
• Adhere to safety and PPE requirements.
