Job summary

Ellwood Engineered Castings Company is seeking a Night Shift Crew Member of Casting Production to work with molten iron and prepare sand molds. You will pull the handle to pour, monitor temperatures, and skim slag while following safety and PPE requirements.

Training on crane certification is possible and opportunities for growth exist. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, inspecting molds, recording process data, and maintaining housekeeping and safety standards in a heavy industrial

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be able to pass physical requirements
• Able to lift 30–60 pounds
• Must be able to work around heat and hot metal temperatures

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints and spec sheets
• Inspect and sweep out molds
• Use ladle to extract hot metal from the torpedo
• Check temperatures of iron
• Pour iron, skim slag off the top as the flask fills
• Add compound to top of iron to assure liquidity of iron
• Take samples of iron and record data on cast sheet
• Perform additional duties that may become necessary within the department
• Adhere to all housekeeping and safety standards, including the required use of PPE
