Job summary

Forward Air Corporation seeks a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight in a multimodal terminal or warehouse. Shift is Mon-Fri 6pm–12am; pay rate $20 per hour.

Must hold forklift certification or obtain before operating; 3+ years dock/warehouse experience preferred. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, scan cargo, assist with dock coordination, maintain safety standards, and mentor newer team members as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; forklift certification preferred or able to obtain.
• 3+ years dock/warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read labels, barcodes, and freight documentation; basic arithmetic to verify counts and weights.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and comply with PPE standards.
• Train and mentor new Material Handlers as needed.
