Job summary

NAFA Fleet Management Association is seeking a skilled Equipment Supervisor to lead a crew in maintenance and repair of motorized equipment. The role emphasizes journeylevel mechanics, safety, and proactive supervision.

Responsibilities include diagnosing repairs, scheduling preventive maintenance, and training staff. A Class A CDL and ASE certifications are required; the position is on-site with opportunities for leadership in fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Class A California Commercial Driver's License with endorsements and a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of journey level experience in maintenance and repair of automotive/heavy trucks and power-driven equipment.
• Certification by ASE as Master Automobile (MA) and Truck (MT) Technician, OR MA or MT with Fire Equipment Mechanic II, plus continuous pursuit of a third certification.
• Within four years, certification by State Fire Marshal as Fire Equipment Mechanic II or ASE MA/MT.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in equipment maintenance activities for motorized equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose and determine repairs; overhaul engines, transmissions, and related systems.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and inventory control of parts.
• Train subordinates, assign and supervise work, and review performance.
• Prepare records, reports, and ensure safety regulations are followed.
