Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Feed Mill Operator to tend, operate, and oversee all operator areas in the mill, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity. The role requires night shifts, and compensation is $19.25 per hour.

The position involves operating equipment, maintaining records, and ensuring storage and inventory of ingredients while obeying environmental and safety standards. Relocation is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to recognize critical areas of the mill control feed/ingredient system.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Basic computer skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Follows standard operating instructions/procedures in all operator areas, including batching and pelleting processes.
• Operates equipment and tools (computer, grinders, fork lift, etc.) in all areas.
• Prepares and maintains shift activity and production reports.
• Regulates flow of materials to meet product specifications.
• Performs daily feed, bulk and micro-ingredient inventory.
• Keeps designated areas clean and supports co-workers.
