Job summary

Amcor LLC in Muscatine, IA is seeking a Facility Technician to ensure equipment reliability and safety on the 11pm-7am shift. You will perform preventative maintenance, assist with installations, and maintain a clean, organized work space.

This role requires mechanical skills, the ability to read drawings, troubleshoot equipment, and work with contractors. Candidates should have 1 year of college or trade school or 4-5 years of related experience, plus 2-4 years in industrial repair.

Qualifications

• One year of college or trade school or four to five years of equivalent experience.
• Two to four years of industrial and facility repair experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally; up to 40 pounds regularly; able to work in high temperatures and humidity.
• Must follow written and verbal instructions with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, quality and attendance policies; act as a safety role model on shift.
• Inspect and maintain production equipment including material handling, conveyors and related systems.
• Assist with assembly, installation, and demolition of equipment for upgrades or new installs.
• Keep a neat, orderly work area and meet housekeeping standards.
• Record detailed information regarding work performed.
• Coordinate with contractors for maintenance or project work.
• Maintain building and grounds.
• Participate in employee-driven teams and continuous improvement projects.
