Job summary

UTMB Health requires a journeyman-level trades professional to maintain and repair heavy commercial building infrastructure across hospital facilities. You will perform inspections, major repairs, and preventative maintenance, coordinating with Property Services to ensure minimal downtime.

The role demands the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, work in varied environments, and participate in 24/7 operations including on-call duties. A post-offer test and safety training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and journeyman-level trade demonstrated by one of the listed options.
• Two years journeyman-level experience or approved equivalence.
• Licensure/certification/degree options can substitute by 8 years industrial experience.
• Must be able to pass post-offer evaluation and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintains all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.
• Liaises with customers and Property Services to prioritize and resolve issues.
• Performs inspections and notifies supervisors of deficiencies.
• Performs major repairs on complex systems and equipment.
• Starts up, shuts down, and adjusts equipment per procedures.
• Performs preventative or corrective maintenance within timelines.
• Trains and mentors new personnel in area of expertise.
