Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX is seeking a journeyman-level trades professional to maintain and repair heavy commercial building infrastructure and equipment across our hospital facilities. Must have a high school diploma and two years of journeyman-level experience in one of the listed trades; electrical journeyman experience is preferred.

This role requires lifting up to 100 lbs and includes 24/7 coverage as needed to support the institution.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and two years of journeyman level experience in one of the listed trades.
• Licensure/certification/degree options may be substituted by 8 years of industrial experience.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions in a post-offer employment test.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintains all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.
• Consults with customers on priority of work and acts as liaison with Property Services.
• Performs major repairs on complex systems and equipment.
• Starts up, shuts down, and adjusts equipment per procedures.
• Performs preventative maintenance and identifies needs before breakdowns.
