Job summary

Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital is seeking an Emergency Room Technician for a 7p-7a FFT shift. The role supports nursing staff, conducts ADLs, records data per policy, and performs delegated clinical tasks in the ER, while ensuring patient and family communication and safety.

The position requires a high school diploma, six months ER experience or EMT certification in Texas, and BLS certification with CPI training within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Six months in an emergency setting or EMT Basic/Intermediate certification (Texas).
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required; CPI within 3 months.
• Preferred CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated low-risk, high-frequency technical and clinical procedures under RN supervision.
• Records data per policy and reports observations to the licensed nurse or provider.
• Maintains infection control and safety protocols; expands patient comfort and safety.
• Performs clerical tasks such as answering phones and transcribing orders.
• Communicates with patients, families and staff to ensure quality care.
