Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department for PRN night shifts. The role provides nursing care under supervision of physicians, APPs, and nursing leadership, with emphasis on rapid assessments and high-quality patient care.

The position requires a valid RN license, an accredited nursing program graduate, and 1 year of RN experience along with multiple certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
• 1 year of RN experience.
• Licenses/certifications listed (NLC, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI, TNCC, PALS, NRP) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments.
• Anticipates patient and family needs to develop an appropriate care plan.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care and communicate with the team.
• Prioritize interventions based on assessments and changes in condition.
• Document interventions and plan of care accurately and timely.
• Adhere to hospital policies, nursing standards, and evidence-based practices.
• Provide patient/family education and discharge planning; involve patient in goals.
