Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Paramedic to work in the Emergency Department on the night shift. The role supports triage, bedside care, and collaboration with RNs, NPs and physicians to deliver high-quality trauma care.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, IV placement, medications administration, and ongoing patient support. A 2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for this part-time position.

Qualifications

• Emergency department/trauma care experience preferred.
• Maintain current paramedic and ACLS/BLS certifications.
• Ability to triage and provide bedside care in high-pressure settings.

Responsibilities

• Documents initial assessments, triage and assigns rooms; educates and discharges patients as needed.
• Performs invasive procedures and tests under RN/NP/physician guidance; administers medications as directed.
• Maintains certifications, supports disaster response, and collaborates with first responders on preparedness.
• Prioritizes care for medical, trauma and mental health patients across acuity levels; assists with equipment checks and inventory.
• Ensures safe operation of devices and adherence to safety policies; supports a trauma-ready environment.
