Job summary

St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks an ER RN for Night shifts (7p–7a) on a Full Time basis. The role provides rapid and skilled emergency care, with responsibilities spanning triage, direct patient care, and life-saving interventions. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Required: graduate from an accredited nursing program, NCLEX-RN within 90 days, and current BLS certification. Join a team delivering urgent and emergent care in a busy ED.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Must take and pass the NCLEX-RN within ninety days of graduating from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival to determine severity and prioritize care per triage protocols.
• Provide direct care including medications, wound care, splinting, vital signs, and pain management.
• Assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions (ACLS, PALS, trauma care).
• Manage high-stress shifts and care for multiple patients during busy periods or mass casualty events.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
