Job summary

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department night shift (7 pm–7 am) with rotating weekends and holidays. Provides direct nursing care per established policies, procedures and protocols of the health care system.

Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, 6 months RN experience, and active RN license with BLS; PSL, ENPC/PALS/NRP or ALS as applicable. Sign-on bonus eligibility may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• Six months' registered nurse experience.
• State-specific RN licensure and BLS HCP; ALS/PALS/ENPC/NRP or equivalents may be required.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients with life threatening, medically complex illness or diagnosis.
• Delivers skilled nursing care using technology and complex interventions.
• Initiates emergency treatment including infant resuscitation and advanced life support.
• Implements and monitors care plans; communicates patient condition to team.
• Coordinates care across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Follows physician and nursing orders and documents accordingly.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the health care team.
• Applies evidence-based practice and ANA ethics to nursing care.
