Job Description

Diodes Incorporated is seeking experienced Equipment Technicians interested in nightshift to join our South Portland Maine facility. This position requires a flexible schedule, including rotating 12-hour shifts, 3 nights on / 3 nights off.

Our Equipment Maintenance Technicians are responsible for supporting manufacturing activities, focusing on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvements. Work involves environments with potential hazards such as toxic gases, acids, solvents, high voltage, and kinetic energy. Candidates must be comfortable working around chemicals in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Nightshift provides a 15% shift differential on top of the base pay.
• Working hours: 6:00pm to 6:00am, 3 nights on / 3 nights off.
• Initial training may be scheduled from 8:00am to 5:00pm, 5 days a week, for 10 to 52 weeks.
• Work is performed within a clean room environment requiring protective gear such as smocks, hoods, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses.
• Use of airline respirator and other PPE may be required.
• Requires standing for up to 75% of shift and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
• May involve working with hazardous gases, chemicals, and high voltage.
• Diagnose and repair electromechanical systems including servo motors, controllers, AC/DC motors, and electro-pneumatic systems like solenoid and gate valves, vacuum pumps, and pneumatic circuits.
• Complete scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and repairs safely and accurately.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong safety awareness: ability to follow safety protocols, identify hazards, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently at a high level.
• Cross-training in other areas is preferred.
• Comfort handling chemicals (acids, bases, solvents) and gases (toxic, corrosive, flammable).
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and vacuum systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use multimeters and voltage supplies.
• Semiconductor equipment knowledge is a plus.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team-oriented and adaptable to work outside normal hours and multi-task as needed.
• Associate's Degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Technologies, military training, or equivalent experience.
