Etch Equipment Maintenance Technician - Night Shift - South Portland, ME

Join us as an Etch Equipment Maintenance Technician - Night Shift - South Portland, ME at Diodes Incorporated.

Diodes Incorporated is seeking experienced Equipment Maintenance Technicians interested in night shifts to join our South Portland, Maine facility. This role requires a flexible schedule and the willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, 3 nights on / 3 nights off.

Our Equipment Maintenance Technicians are responsible for supporting manufacturing activities, focusing on maintaining Lam Plasma Etchers (models 9600, 9400, 4520), Fusion Ashers, automated and manual wet decks (JST, TEL, SEZ), SRDs, and all support equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvements, often in environments with toxic gases, acids, solvents, high voltage, and kinetic energy hazards. Candidates must be comfortable working around chemicals in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work during night shift with a 15% shift differential over base pay.
  • Hours: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, 3 nights on / 3 nights off.
  • Initial training may involve daytime hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, for 10 to 52 weeks.
  • Perform work within a clean room environment, requiring protective apparel such as smocks, hoods, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Use of airline respirators may be required.
  • Occasional use of personal protective equipment including aprons, gauntlets, and full-face masks.
  • Stand for up to 75% of the shift and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Work with hazardous gases, chemicals, and high voltage systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems, including servo motors, controllers, and other support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electro-pneumatic systems, including valves, vacuum pumps, and pneumatic circuits.
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repairs accurately and safely.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong safety focus: follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout, and identify safety concerns.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently at a high level.
  • Cross-training in other areas as needed.
  • Comfort handling chemicals, gases, and troubleshooting electrical and vacuum systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and use measurement tools like multimeters.
  • Preferred: Semiconductor equipment knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team-oriented and adaptable to changing schedules and multi-tasking.
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Technologies, Military Equivalent, or relevant maintenance experience.
