Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Warrenville, IL seeks an Environmental Services Technician I to join our hospital operations. You will be responsible for daily cleaning of patient rooms and ancillary areas, including isolation and terminal cleaning, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires adherence to infection control practices, teamwork, and the ability to handle on-call and after-hours scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Prefer high school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with the correct use of body mechanics.
• The ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• The communications skills necessary to understand written and verbal instructions.
• The organizational skills necessary to coordinate, prioritize and accomplish multiple work assignments.
• The ability to work on call and overtime when necessary, including all holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily patient room and ancillary area cleaning in assigned areas per departmental and corporate standards.
• Cleans isolation/terminal rooms and equipment used in patient rooms and ancillary areas.
• Follows safety specifications regarding cleaning chemicals and labeling of bottles.
• Maintains supplies and ensures carts/equipment are clean and orderly.
• Provides a positive customer service minded environment through teamwork and a proactive attitude.
