Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Environmental Services professional for the night shift (Sat, Sun, and holidays) from 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM at 66 Blossom Street. You will maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary hospital environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include floor care, dusting, restroom sanitation, event setup, and reporting safety concerns with a focus on infection prevention and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving equipment.
• Previous environmental services, housekeeping, custodial, or healthcare cleaning experience preferred.
• Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
• Licenses and Credentials Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary healthcare environment for patients, visitors, and staff throughout the hospital or healthcare facility.
• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and glass surfaces.
• Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenish restroom supplies as needed.
• Collect and remove debris from building grounds and surrounding areas.
• Operate and maintain high- and low-speed floor care equipment, including stripping and buffing machines.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, special events, and routine hospital activities.
• Identify and report building maintenance issues and safety concerns within assigned facilities.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and departmental procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
