Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor for the Emergency Services department. The role includes administrative oversight, staff development, and collaboration with unit leadership, with nightly full-time shifts.

You will participate in training, supervise staff, and ensure efficient department operations while maintaining patient care quality. A BSN is preferred and various clinical certifications are required or encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS certificate required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS and/or ENPC required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• TNCC certificate within 12 months of hire and CEN within 2 years, preferred.
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience; supervisory/leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports administrative responsibility for department service functions.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement.
• Oversees orientation and training of personnel.
• Communicates with staff, physicians and administration in writing and verbally.
• Assists with daily operations, directing and evaluating personnel and resources.
• Performs direct patient care as needed and monitors care plans.
